Founder and partner of Ergoweb Canada, Alain is a respected, well-known consultant with a career of 22-plus years in user experience.
With hundreds of projects conducted with SMEs, large enterprises and public organizations in Canada and abroad under his belt, his solid and broad expertise is evident in both the quality and speed of his work.
Alain is a team player whose presence is valuable in complex, difficult projects. He is particularly adept at research, pre-design and user experience assessment activities. For example, he knows all there is to know about information architecture, heuristic evaluations and usability testing of any kind.
His clients include such prestigious organizations as La Presse+ (Montreal, Quebec), Hotels.com (London, England) and Facebook (United States), for whom he carries out a wide variety of usability testing and user research projects.
Over the years, Alain has managed consulting teams in Montreal, Quebec City, Vancouver and Toronto. A teacher and conference speaker, he gave and supervised an ergonomics training course at the Centre de recherche informatique de Montreal for over 15 years. He also lectured at the Université de Sherbrooke for the applied communications master’s program. In 2015, he was asked to write the preface to the book Méthodes de design UX by Lallemand and Gronier, published by Eyrolles.
Alain has been a volunteer treasurer for the non-profit organization « Tout le monde UX » for several years. He served as director of strategic partnerships on the board of directors of User Experience Professionals’ Association (UXPA) International, organized the Francophone component of the 2005 UPA conference in Montreal and presided over the 2008 UPA conference in Baltimore. He regularly participates in the organization of events and stays current by attending several industry events every year, here and abroad.
Alain holds a master’s degree in Communications from the Université de Montréal.
